The treatise entitled “De Thermis” by Andrea Bacci, published in 1571, contains several passages describing the sulphureous springs to be found in Sant’Albino di Montepulciano.

Montepulciano spa was established in 1966 with the aim of utilizing in a rational and scientific way the therapeutic properties of the sulphureous and “salsobromoidiche” (containing sodium chloride, bromide and iodide) waters present in the subsoil. The waters are particularly indicated for the treatment of respiratory and skin disorders.
